Linalyl Acetate
The Freshness Ester & Harmonizer

What is Linalyl Acetate? This substance is the chemical "spouse" of Linalool. It is an ester that naturally occurs in many essential oils – particularly prominently in lavender, bergamot, and clary sage. While Linalool smells floral, Linalyl Acetate contributes the fresh, fruity, and slightly herbal note that we love so much (think Earl Grey tea!).
⚖ Balance & Psyche
Linalyl Acetate is considered a great harmonizer in aromatherapy.
- Balancing: It has a regulating effect on the nervous system – it can calm you when stressed, but also gently uplift you when exhausted.
- Synergy: Together with Linalool, it forms the "dream team" of lavender for deep sleep and relaxation.
🌿 Effect on the Skin
Applied topically, the ester also has positive effects.
The benefits:
- Has a slightly anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing effect.
- Regulates sebum production in oily skin (especially in combination with bergamot oil).
⚠ What you should watch out for
Natural vs. Synthetic: Linalyl Acetate is often produced synthetically because it is stable and cheap. In Hago products, however, it comes predominantly from natural essential oils, which ensures a more complex and well-rounded scent profile. It is considered well-tolerated.
